Royal Liver roof repairs underway

CBRE's Liverpool building consultancy team has been instructed by Royal London to carry out an external repair and restoration programme of works on the grade 1-listed Royal Liver Building.

The work involves the external repair and restoration of the four main domes and eight smaller domes and will include refurbishment and overhauling of two spiral staircases and replacement of the timber speaker housing in the west tower.

CBRE has appointed Quadriga Contracts, a specialist external repair company, to carry out the works. The works are scheduled for completion in late spring 2015.

Peter Rigby, building surveyor at CBRE, said: "This is an exciting and rare opportunity to restore and enhance one of the North West's most iconic buildings which occupies a prominent position on the waterfront in Liverpool. The sensitive restoration works will ensure that this important landmark stands the test of time and we are looking forward to seeing the work progressing over the forthcoming weeks."

Hope they do a better job than they did on Cunard!

Can’t wait to see the results. The job CBRE did on Cunard was stunning.

Great project. The Liverpool Water front is second to none, both Cunard and Port of Liverpool Building look amazing. Hopefully there are plans to clean / restore Liver Building to the same standard.
