Rowland secures permission for 235-home Ulverston scheme

Rowland Homes is set to start the development at Gascow Farm in Ulverston this month after winning approval at South Lakeland Council’s planning committee.

The project is the first part of the wider Croftlands housing allocation to the south of Ulverston, with another parcel understood to have been recently acquired by Homes England.

The scheme includes 60 affordable homes, with a mixture of social rent and intermediate homes for sale, green infrastructure, and a financial contribution towards off-site highway improvements at the Cross-a-Moor junction of the A590.

Rowland Homes are to build the scheme, and also provided the design and access statement and acted as architect. Consultant Steven Abbott Associates acted as the agent.

Alastair Skelton, partner at Steven Abbott Associates, said: “Rowland Homes and its team have worked extremely hard in conjunction with South Lakeland District Council to deliver a high-quality housing scheme that will support the viability and character of Ulverston by delivering a mix and choice of good quality homes.

“The setting and context offered by the site has enable Rowland to incorporate large areas of greenspace into their scheme ensuring that the development forms a sustainable and beneficial extension to Ulverston.”
