Roundhouse completes at £5m Preston business park

Roundhouse Properties has completed the first phase of its £5m Momentum business park at South Rings, Preston, which will provide 37,800 sq ft of commercial space.

The developer has already sold the first phase of 22 units to 14 businesses and two investors, and is due to complete construction on the wider site by the end of year, after starting work in August last year.

Jeremy Lefton, managing director of Roundhouse Momentum Development, said the second phase had already started on site and the entirety of this phase was already under offer.

He also reported “a high level of interest” in phase three, due to complete before 2019.

Tenants that have taken space at the scheme include Precision Motion, North West Sealants, Mel Bartley Personal Training, and interior design company Vivocasa.

Lefton said: “Momentum has proved to be a popular concept for a wide range of SMEs in the area. It’s a model we are looking to repeat elsewhere in the region and the wider North West should we find sites that give us the opportunity to develop smaller business centres near excellent transport links, amenities and within close proximity to residential communities.”

Earlier this month, the developer announced the purchase of a 3.5-acre site on Shadsworth Business Park in Blackburn, due to be home to 46,100 sq ft of business space, also under the Momentum brand.

In total, 127 business units under the brand have been brought the market in the past four year.
