Rossendale Hall reborn with HCA assistance
Residential charity the Rossendale Trust and Symphony Housing Group have completed a £2.4m redevelopment of Rossendale Hall in Sutton, Macclesfield.
Sixteen apartments in a new block called the Rose Gardens have been finished to add to the Riverside apartments which opened last year.
Previously 27 tenants lived in communal accommodation in the older part of the hall which was no longer fit for purpose. Now 32 tenants live in groups of four people, each with their own bedroom and sharing a communal kitchen, living room and bathroom facilities. This gives residents a more independent lifestyle, said Mike Frost, chief executive of the Rossendale Trust.
Symphony Housing Group secured £1.4m in grant funding from the Homes & Communities Agency to develop the new housing. Its subsidiary, Contour Homes, now becomes the new landlord for the tenants.
Macclesfield-based contractors Rowlinson Constructions carried out the build. The Rossendale Trust is a charity that provides residential care and accommodation for adults with learning difficulties.
