Robertson hires regional director from Laing O’Rourke

Robertson Group has hired Dirk Pittaway as managing director to head up its business in the North West.

Pittaway, who joined at the end of 2017, was previously operations leader at Laing O’Rourke and was also operations director and deputy chief executive at the Manchester Central convention complex between 2010 and 2014.

The group’s North West team relocated to offices in Haydock, Newton-le-Willows, last year.

Projects it has worked on across the region include the Bolton Central office development, next to the town’s bus interchange, and an operations and maintenance facility for Dong Energy.

Pittaway added: “Robertson Group has shown impressive growth in the last ten years, despite the challenging market conditions in recent years, and my focus will be to continue delivering the Robertson model for business across the North West.”

Robertson Group employs around 2,300 people across the UK and is headquartered in Elgin. It reported a turnover of more than £565m in its most recent results, covering the year to 31 March 2017.
