Ringway replaces BAM Nuttall on west Cheshire highways

Vinci subsidiary Ringway Infrastructure Services has replaced BAM Nuttall as Cheshire West's highways maintenance partner in a contract shared with Shropshire Council.

Cheshire West & Chester Council's executive voted on Wednesday to choose the firm from a shortlist of five bidders.

Ringway will take over the provision of highways services in west Cheshire from BAM Nuttall on 6 October 2012.

Staff will transfer to the new provider under TUPE regulations on their current terms and conditions of employment. CWAC said the six-year contract is expected to save the authority £587,000 a year.

Cllr Lynn Riley, executive member for community and environment, said: "Ringway is a highly experienced company within the highways arena and brings a wealth of experience gained through similar contracts across the country.

"Collaborative working with Shropshire throughout the procurement process has enabled us to share expertise and resources, while delivering significant savings for our taxpayers."
