RICS appoints communications firm

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has appointed Redwood Consulting to deliver communications and public relations services across the UK.

RICS, an independent professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction, has around 80,000 members in England and holds events and activities in Merseyside, Isle of Man, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and Lancashire.

Following a competitive pitch with two other unnamed agencies, RICS said Redwood was selected to deliver a targeted PR campaign focusing on the UK priority sectors: construction, facilities and built-asset management, valuation and residential.

The appointment is the first time that the RICS has recruited one communications agency to deliver PR services across these sectors.

Lucy Close, director at Redwood Consulting, said: "It is a very exciting time in RICS' history, with significant opportunities for communications and public relations to help grow the brand across its key sectors in the UK market."

RICS has around 1000,000 qualified members and over 50,000 students and trainees in some 140 countries.
