Richborough completes sale of Davenham site to Bellway

Richborough Estates has sold a 12-acre development site in Cheshire to Bellway Homes, to build out planning permission in place for 70 homes.

The scheme has a gross development value of £15m and is situated just off Fountain Lane. The houses would be a mix of properties with between two and five bedrooms, 30% of which would be affordable.

Alongside the homes, the development includes delivery of public open spaces, a network of cycle and pedestrian paths, and new vehicle access from Fountain Lane.

Around 30% of the site will be retained as open space.

Bellway is expected to start building out the project almost immediately.

Karl Parkington-Witte, joint managing director at Richborough Estates, said: “Davenham is a picturesque village with a beautiful historic heart and we wanted to ensure that our plans for this site reflected the existing architecture and took full advantage of the spaces available to us.

“We are confident that Bellway, as a leading national housebuilder, will deliver an exceptional extension to the existing village, creating family homes that will attract people to the area, helping to support and sustain the existing community.”
