RIBA North West and Hobs Studio partner up

The Royal Institute of British Architects North West and Hobs Studio have agreed to operate in partnership during 2014 to support the development of a range of events, activities and support solutions for RIBA members in the North West.

There will be a particular focus on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D technologies, looking at how both organisations can work together to further the understanding of BIM and associated technologies as a tool for collaborative working within the architecture profession.

Andrew Ruffler, regional director of RIBA North West, commented: "Hobs has been a long-standing supporter of RIBA North West and our Chartered Members across the region, and this agreement looks to formalise elements of the relationship in 2014. It allows us to focus resources on a number of strategic priorities; namely broadening the understanding and adoption of BIM and associated technology solutions, and how this links to the changing procurement agenda, nationally and internationally."

Mo Isap, director of Group Strategy for Hobs, said: "We are thrilled that our partnership has a common goal for both organisations; to support the design and architectural sector in embracing and adopting BIM and to provide practical applications of the latest 3D technologies."

The partnership will be officially launched at an event at Hobs Studio in Manchester on Tuesday 18 March at 5.30pm, followed by a tour of the Hobs Studio's BIM Technologies. Anyone interested in attending this free event can book online via https://riba-hobsstudio.eventbrite.co.uk
