Sevendale House

Revamped Sevendale attracts further tenants

Philip J Davies Holdings has completed three lettings at the restored Sevendale House in Manchester's Northern Quarter.

Specialist data science recruitment firm Big Cloud agreed a lease for 1,098 sq ft, relocating its team of five staff from Spring Gardens. Equitix, an investor and fund manager of infrastructure assets, took 1,043 sq ft for its first office in the UK outside London. US software firm Couchbase is relocating its Manchester team into 2,690 sq ft to make room for growth.

The deals are all on the third floor and follow the 22,765 sq ft letting to Ticketmaster completed late last year.

The grade 2-listed building, which is owned by Philip J Davies Holdings and launched in September last year following a £6m restoration, contains 65,000 sq ft of office space and 15,000 sq ft of retail.

OBI Property is joint letting agent with Daniel Harris & Co. The landlord is Philip J Davies Holdings.

Equitix were advised on the acquisition by Manchester agents Mathews & Goodman LLP; Smith Price advised Couchbase.

Mark Davies, director of Philip J Davies Holdings, said: "We believed there was a real need for Grade A space in the Northern Quarter and the level of enquiries we've received at Sevendale House since launching last September is demonstrative of that. We're delighted to welcome all three companies to the building and are confident of further deals completing in the near future."

Emma Powell, surveyor at OBI Property, said: "It's great to welcome three new tenants to Sevendale House so quickly after confirming Ticketmaster. The space we have provided ranges from large floorplates to smaller suites to accommodate business from five to 150 people. The competitive rents and high quality space on offer attracts both local Northern Quarter businesses and also those traditionally located in other parts of central Manchester who wouldn't have previously considered relocating to the area."

David Laws, partner at Matthews & Goodman, said: "After an extensive search of the city centre and south Manchester, Sevendale House became a logical choice, due to the fact that the space provides an attractive work environment which benefits further from the eclectic retail and amenity mix of the Northern Quarter and the close proximity of Piccadilly railway station."
