Resolution in talks to buy Great Northern

The former owner of Manchester's Printworks leisure complex is in talks to buy the city's Great Northern Warehouse from Capital & Regional.

Resolution Property, London, is a property fund which has traditionally raised equity to buy investment properties every few years.

The grade 2-listed Great Northern Warehouse was put on the market in April for £75m through CBRE as part of Capital & Regional's strategy to concentrate on its core shopping centre business.

A spokesman for Resolution Property declined to comment on speculation that the company is in talks to buy the Great Northern.

The Great Northern was converted into a 339,000 sq ft leisure complex in 1996.

Tenants include the All Star Lanes bowling alley, Almost Famous Burgers and AMC cinema.

Resolution sold the Printworks to Land Securities for £93.9m in November last year
