Residents show support for £150m Nikal / McLean plan

A series of public consultations on a proposed £150m mixed-used development in Altrincham have shown that residents of the town are largely behind the project.

More than 80% of respondents supported the Altair project, proposed by developers Nikal and David McLean Developments and designed by architect Ian Simpson, which will provide the town centre with a new retail, residential, leisure and business area.

Plans for the site, located off Moss Lane, include a 3,000-seater permanent ice rink, an extreme sports centre and a 100-bed hotel as well as 200,000 sq ft of retail and leisure accommodation, luxury apartments, 60,000 sq ft of office space and two public spaces.
