Residential plans approved for manufacturing site

Working on behalf of Richmond Packaging, Manchester-based HOW Planning has secured outline planning consent for 37 homes in Winsford, Cheshire.

The development is planned for the former Richmond Packaging premises on New Road, which falls within the Winsford Waterfront area identified for residential-led regeneration by Cheshire West & Chester Council.

Carol Clarke, associate at HOW Planning, said: "The plans for Richmond Packaging will transform a redundant site which at present isn't making any positive contribution to the town. This is one of the first approvals to be granted in the Winsford Waterfront regeneration area and it is hoped the early redevelopment of the site for residential use will kick start further new development in the area as part of the on-going regeneration of Winsford."

Architects on the scheme are Rochdale-based Burr Design Associates.
