A CGI of how the finished scheme will look

Renaker tops out at 100 Greengate

Contractor and developer Renaker has topped out at the 44-storey 100 Greengate, formerly known as Exchange Court, in Salford ahead of the project’s planned completion in early 2019.

The development of 349 one, two, and three-bed apartments started on site in June 2016 and has now reached its highest point of 130m, making it the tallest building in Salford.

Designed by OMI Architects, the project has been backed by a £33m loan from Homes England, formerly the Homes & Communities Agency, and also includes a 16-storey elevation.

Facilities at the building include a gym, residents’ lounge and landscaped gardens.

Daren Whitaker, managing director of Renaker Build, said: “Following the success of our 497-home Greengate One development, 100 Greengate is our second aspirational development in what is shaping up to become a culturally rich and diverse new city centre neighbourhood.

“We very much appreciate the continued support of both Homes England and Salford City Council, which is key to our future ambitions for regeneration and development.”

Work on other Renaker projects across Manchester city centre and Salford is well under way, including the Owen Street tower cluster, the highest of which is due to reach 64 storeys.

The developer and contractor is also due to submit a planning application for a 52-storey tower as part of the Great Jackson Street masterplan. Designed by architects SimpsonHaugh, the development will include 665 apartments as well as a rooftop swimming pool on the 48th floor.
