Renaker Build has announced its plans for a further 188 apartments in Manchester’s Castlefield, on a vacant plot near to its skyscraper cluster approved earlier this year and currently under construction at Owen Street.
The development at 2-4 Chester Road will see two apartment blocks of between eight and 21 storeys, made up of a mix of one, two and three-bedroom flats and penthouses targeted at the high-end residential market. The buildings include underground parking, communal landscaped terrace, leisure facilities and concierge services.
The 40,000 sq ft plot is currently scrubland on the edge of Castlefield Basin.
A planning application is due to be submitted later this month. The scheme is designed by OMI Architects, with planning advice provided by Deloitte Real Estate.
On the opposite side of Chester Road, at the end of Deansgate, Renaker is on site with 1,500 apartments, being delivered across four towers of 66, 52, 46 and 39 storeys respectively. The architect is SimpsonHaugh & Partners.
