Regus Express to open at Sandbach services

Regus, the global workspace provider, is planning to open one of its Regus Express locations at Roadchef's Sandbach South services on the M6, aimed at mobile workers and business travellers.

The drop-in business centre will open later this year, featuring a business lounge with dedicated workstations, called Thinkpods, special seats with laptop stands, phone chargers and wireless internet access, as well as meeting rooms available by the hour.

A Regus Express centre is also opening at Roadchef's Norton Canes services on the M6 Toll in Staffordshire.

The openings are part of a wider deal between Regus and Roadchef to roll out 12 Regus Express locations across the country, in addition to the one already at Clacket Lane services on the M25 in Kent.

Through a variety of partnerships, Regus is rolling out a series of 'Express' locations across the country, not only in motorway service areas but also airports and retail environments, for instance at Broughton Shopping Park near Chester.

Phil Kemp, global managing director of Regus Third Place, said: "Bringing the Regus Express network to the M6 is an exciting development for us, and one which reflects rapidly evolving world of work. Attitudes towards the office are changing dramatically.

"Regus Express is popular with people travelling on business and sales teams, but also with the rising number of flexible workers. Flexibility in work location is gathering further momentum following the introduction of new regulations which give all employees the legal right to request flexible working.

"Increasingly, companies with a distributed workforce want reassurance that staff can access a professional work environment rather than just their kitchen table or spare room. This explains the rise of 'third places' – professional workspace on demand. Regus Express is a glimpse into the future of work, where the new rules are flexibility, convenience and choice."

Simon Turl, chief executive of Roadchef, said: "We are extremely pleased to be working with Regus to bring this additional facility to our motorway service areas. Business users will no longer have to contend with other users of the MSA whilst they are trying to work and groups can meet comfortably on the motorway, reducing congestion and unnecessary journeys. We look forward to seeing the network grow."

There are two ways to access Regus Express centres:

  • Pay-as-you-go access priced at £5/hour or £10/day
  • Regus Businessworld membership at £35/month
