Destination marketing, planning policy, consumer spending, culture as an economic driver – all are on the agenda at this special half-day event, in association with Kier Group, on the same day as the UK electorate votes in the EU referendum on Thursday 23 June.

The rise of tourism numbers, increased spending on eating out, emergence of extreme sports as a visitor attraction – all impact transport investment decision, roll out of restaurant brands and changing shape of the high street, new hotel development, branding of towns and cities.

Anna Doran, general manager of the Anglo Scottish route for Virgin Trains – offering insights on rail investment programmes, franchises and Virgin’s famed customer service strategy

Jonathan Vose, director, Walsingham Planning – advisor to Whitbread on new and extended Premier Inns and Costa Coffee units, pub group Greene King and the proposed 55-acre Cheshire Watersports Centre in Chelford

Tim Woodhead, director of Industry Wake Parks – operator of wakeboarding at Liverpool’s Albert Dock and water adventure park Fox Lake outside Edinburgh

Graham Lister, project director, Storyhouse – Chester’s new £37m theatre and library project due to open later this year, and head of the arts events producer of the same name

Chris Melia, partner director, Amion Consulting – leader of visitor and leisure team specialising in cultural, heritage and tourism projects for clients such as V&A Museum in Dundee, Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, Marwell Zoo, and the Royal Observatory, Greenwich

Collette Roche, director of customer service and security, deputy managing director of Manchester Airport – global gateway for the North of the UK and the largest airport outside London with over 210 destinations served by 70 airlines

Dan Davies, director of Metis Real Estate – independent retail, leisure and investment advisor to Liverpool One, Pizza Express, Manchester Arndale and Corn Exchange among many more

Jeremy Butler, general manager, Sale Sharks Rugby Club – joined the club a year ago to modernise and restructure the commercial and operational departments at the Aviva Premiership Club based at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford

Tomas Maunier, sales and marketing director, Fazenda Group – the upmarket Brazilian restaurant operating in Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester with ambitious growth plans

Travel, Leisure + Tourism is due to begin at 8am for an 8.30am start and run through until lunch, which will be served at around midday and included in the ticket price. The venue is the new Holiday Inn Manchester at 25 Aytoun Street, M1 3DT.
