Redsun bulks up Wirral industrial project

An application by Redsun Developments for three industrial buildings on a 4.9-acre site on the edge of Wirral International Business Park is to go before Wirral’s planning committee with a recommendation for approval next week.

C4 Consulting has submitted the application on behalf of Redsun. The site, at Riverview Road Bromborough is divided into two parcels of land separated by other land where Redsun secured consent in February this year for two associated industrial units.

The site thus forms a continuous development area between Riverview Road and the River Mersey, sitting to the north of Riverwood Park. It is currently vacant scrubland that has never been developed. The Wirral Circular Trail pedestrian path and cycleway runs around part of the site.

The three buildings in this application will offer a combined total of 76,850 sq ft – Units 1 and 2 providing around 31,430 sq ft each and Unit 5 around 14,000 sq ft. Units 3 and 4, on the plot already consented, offer 18,370 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft respectively.

Redsun has been among the most active industrial developers in the region in recent years, with projects including the Power Station at Wirral International, Hooton Park in Ellesmere Port and Canada Dock in North Liverpool.

Jolly fine but is “scrubland which has never been developed” Brown or not? Scrubland has an important place in our ecology.

More Lorries using the already over used A41. There is too much development in this area now. WBC should be concentrating on Birkenhead
