Redrow picks up site for 200 homes

Chester-based agent Legat Owen has completed the sale of a 19-acre residential development site at Penyffordd in Flintshire to Redrow Homes for an undisclosed sum.

Working for a private client, Legat Owen negotiated the deal, which was conditional upon the granting of a reserved matters approval for 186 residential dwellings.

Redrow was initially refused planning permission but following an appeal the scheme was referred for Welsh Government ministerial approval, which was granted in May. The sale was agreed last week.

Stephen Wade, director at Legat Own, said: “The sale of this site to Redrow will ensure the delivery of a quality residential development in Penyffordd. It is testimony to the quality of their original proposal that the application was granted on Appeal by Welsh Ministers.

“We are pleased to have delivered an excellent result for the landowner.”

Redrow has begun work on site and will launch sales later this year with a view to having the first homes completed by May 2019.

Paul Moore, Redrow North West managing director, said: “We have a strong track record of providing quality new homes in the area and look forward to getting our latest development underway.”
