RBS retail specialist joins Barclays
Barclays Corporate in Manchester has appointed Fiona Parkes from Royal Bank of Scotland as relationship director for the retail and wholesaling sectors.
Parkes spent six years at RBS, initially in sales finance and more recently as a relationship director in the commercial banking division.
At Barclays, she will concentrate on larger businesses specialising in retail and wholesale both with an existing portfolio and new business responsibilities.
Michael Hartig, head of Barclays Corporate in Manchester, said: "Fiona's appointment is a reflection of our confidence in the business opportunities within the region and our desire to support a more specialised approach to the market by continuing to segment ourselves along industry sectors."
He continued: "We have announced a number of deals already in 2011 including the recent £20m refinance of the Williams Group. We aim to be the best and the largest corporate banking provider in the North West market and will be aggressively attracting new customers to Barclays Corporate during 2011."
