Queens Drive development set for approval

Plans by Simons Group for a mixed-use scheme in Queens Drive in Stoneycroft have been recommended for approval by Liverpool City Council.

The scheme on the two-acre site will see the demolition of a building currently occupied by the Merseyside Society for Deaf People to allow for the development of new three-storey headquarters for the charity, alongside a 9,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer Simply Food store and a 16,500 sq ft Aldi.

An application was submitted following a consultation held last summer.

Liverpool Council's head of planning recommended the project for approval ahead of a meeting of the council's planning committee on Tuesday 27 January.

HOW Planning advised Simons Group on the scheme. Harris Partnership is the architect.
