Public-private JV proposes spec Bolton office
Public Sector plc, a joint venture between property investors William Pears Group and Winston Group, has submitted plans for a £6.5m speculative office development at the new rail and bus interchange in the town centre.
PSP formed a joint venture, called PSP Bolton, with Bolton Council in July 2013 to develop council assets.
A planning application has been submitted to Bolton Council for 30,000 sq ft of office accommodation designed by JM Architects in Manchester. The five-storey building will sit at the junction of Great Moor Street and Newport Street.
Work is currently underway on a £48m interchange which will replace the existing bus station in Moor Lane, and connect to the train station via a footbridge. The transport interchange is being delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester in partnership with Bolton Council, and construction is expected to complete in 2016.
Subject to planning, construction of the office development could start in late 2015 with completion scheduled for early 2017.
In November 2013, Peter Brett Associates secured planning permission on behalf of PSP Bolton for the development of up to 100 houses and 4,305 sq ft of retail space on a former college site, also close to the station.
