Prupim lets Warrington warehouse to Asda

Real estate investment manager Prupim has let a 370,000 sq ft distribution unit to supermarket chain Asda in Dallam Lane, Warrington.

Asda has agreed a five year lease on the warehouse, formerly occupied by logistics firm DHL, which will undergo refurbishment by the landlord including the provision of 20 new loading doors.

The Manchester office of Colliers International advised Asda and said the rent will be in the region of £1m a year.

The refurbishment work is due to complete by the end of January 2011.

Mike Walker, director and head of Colliers International's Manchester logistics and industrial team, said: "Asda had a requirement for additional ambient space in the area with a reasonable level of flexibility. The Dallam Lane unit is in a good location and following the improvements to the unit and the loading it will work well from an operational perspective.

"The deal required both Asda and Prupim to work together on the specification for the works to the building that will produce a good building for both landlord and tenant."
