Property professionals raise cash for Kirkby farm

A charity set up by North West property professionals has raised £1,000 from its first charity event for Acorn Venture Farm in Kirkby, Liverpool.

The money will provide replacement guttering to the stable and enable the farm to continue horse-riding activities.

Norfoxtoo, a spin off from the original Norfox charity, was established to raise funds for young people in the region.

The fundraising event took place at Alto Bar at the Radisson Edwardian in Manchester city centre and was attended by over 100 property professionals. Guests had an opportunity to enter a raffle with prizes including Tongan rugby shirts, a meal for two at Alto a spa day at the Radisson and a pamper day at SpaceNK.

Jayne Hennessy, of EC Harris, said: "Although there are a whole host of charities in the North West, there are very few which are set up by young people for young people. The organisations we aim to help are not mainstream charities and rely on charitable donations to survive. We will be holding a number of similar fundraising events over the coming months to continue to support charities like Acorn Farm."

Acorn Venture Farm is an animal farm tourist visitor attraction providing family days out and activities, as well as employment for young people and people with disabilities in the area.
