Property fund buys Widnes warehouse for £6m

The Bear, a 105,000 sq ft warehouse in Widnes, has been sold by Columbia Threadneedle Investments to AEW Property Fund for £3.6m.

The unit is in Towngate Business Centre on Ditchfield Road.

Mail order business Express Gifts is the tenant in The Bear, which was previously let to Gelent.

Richard Tanner, AEW UK Core Property Fund portfolio manager, said: “As the final quarter of the year comes to a close, we are very happy to have completed this acquisition and look forward to continuing to focus on providing investors exposure to a diversified, multi-sector portfolio of commercial property assets in the New Year.”
