Promotions at Thomasons

The Manchester-based civil and structural engineering practice has promoted associates Michael Broadbent and Heather Mannings to technical directors.

Broadbent is a chartered structural engineer with 30 years' experience in construction projects spanning commercial, retail and education.

Mannings specialises in investigating structural defects in modern and historic buildings, reporting on the effects of dereliction, impact, fire and subsidence damage, together with design and construction errors. Among her work is the listed Royal Exchange in Manchester's St Ann's Square.

In their new roles, Broadbent will focus on project procurement and development, and Mannings on resourcing and quality control.

Richard Levery, who heads Thomasons in Manchester, said: "These promotions will create a clearer management structure with a strong focus on technical excellence and strengthen the support to our directors as Thomasons continues to expand. I wish them every success in their new roles."

Thomasons employs 30 people in Manchester and Liverpool. Clients include Peel, Galliford Try, Brookmoor Developments, Pure Gym, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, WC Rowe, Tilda and Hand Picked Hotels.
