The social housing consortium is set to issue a contract notice for a model aimed at achieving cost savings on new build social housing projects for registered providers.
Procure Plus said the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is due to be distributed between 15 and 16 November and main contractors will be invited to tender for the model.
Successful applicants will work with Procure Plus to deliver the model, known as the New Build Brokerage Model, which it said uses volume procurement and collaborative purchasing strategies to realise an average 15% reduction in unit price.
Procure Plus said registered providers will, through the model, be able to personalise their schemes from housing archetypes and also receive support from Procure Plus in maximising social enterprise and regeneration opportunities within their local area.
Steve Brindle, operations executive at Procure Plus, said: "Our New Build Brokerage Model offers a great solution for RPs, but it's also a fantastic opportunity for contractors. In this day and age, consistency of work is something that troubles every trade, but through the model and our approach to the procurement and delivery of work, contractors can be more assured of continuity and stability in demand. What's more, as the consortium works with a wide range of housing providers in the region, contractors will have the chance to have their work seen by new landlords, which could equate to new business in the future."
Following the release of the PQQ in mid-November, successful applicants will be invited to a 'Meet the Buyer' event organised by Procure Plus, during which contractors will get the opportunity to speak with potential customers face to face. Selected candidates with then receive an invitation to tender in January, and work will commence on the framework in mid 2012.
