Domino Printer Bootle

Printer factory granted for Bootle

Redsun Developments has secured detailed planning consent for a 170,000 sq ft manufacturing facility at Senate Business Park in Bootle following unanimous planning approval by Sefton Council.

The £12m scheme, designed by Fletcher Rae architects, will be built by Eric Wright Construction and is expected to start in summer 2016.

A pre-let agreement is in place with Domino UK which will occupy the building as its UK fluids manufacturing headquarters.

Domino is a global developer and manufacturer of coding and printing technologies. The company is based near to the development site, which Redsun will acquire from the council.

Craig Booton, director of Redsun Developments, said: “This is another major milestone achieved for this development, which will result in substantial investment and secure an important high-value employer in the local area. We are bringing Senate Business Park back to life, having lain derelict and empty for many years, so we can’t wait to see construction work underway in the coming months.”

Greg Summers, director, Domino UK, said: “Domino have invested heavily in development and operational infrastructure to satisfy the need for a broader range of products and increased capacity. This development is paramount to Domino’s growth plans in the UK. To be able to do this in close proximity to the current facility, with our skilled and loyal workforce, and with the support and help of the local council, underpins how important it is to all of us.”

John Wilson, managing director, Eric Wright Construction, said: “We’re well versed at delivering major manufacturing projects both within timescale and budget and as a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we will work hard to maintain our high standards both on and around site.”
