Prevost opens UK base at The Pavilions

A French air treatment and fluid distribution company is opening its first UK facility at The Pavilions in Rochdale.

Prevost decided to invest in the region following advice from Manchester's investment and development agency, Midas, and the North West Development Agency.

Midas and the NWDA assisted Prevost with property searches, tours and provided information to support the business case for the location.

Mike Abbott, Prevost UK sales manager, said: "By setting up our base here we are demonstrating not only faith in the UK economy but in Greater Manchester's ability to service our recruitment and logistical requirements. As a business, we are committed to supporting the economic development of Greater Manchester and believe that its infrastructure, from transport links to the established network of logistics providers in Greater Manchester, will ensure that we can grow with the city region."

Cllr Dale Mulgrew, cabinet member for development at Rochdale Council, added: "Our employment links team worked with the company throughout the recruitment process. Being able to offer a local recruitment service to a company based outside the UK not only made the opening of the new facility much easier for Prevost, but it also demonstrated the real value of locating an international business in Rochdale."

Prevost has taken 4,000 sq ft at The Pavillions, a commercial development by Richardson Projects providing business and industrial units located on Bridgefold Road, adjacent to Rochdale Cricket Club.

The development consists of nine units ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft.

WHR Property Consultants acted for the landlords in the deal. Details of the rental agreement were not disclosed.

Prevost's global headquarters is in Annecy, France.
