Preston Porsche Centre to open in 2019

Following the completion of groundworks and piling, contractor Warden Construction has started on the main build of a 43,000 sq ft Porsche dealership in Preston, designed by architect Cassidy + Ashton.

Bowker Motor Group will operate the centre for Porsche after being appointed in September 2017, and the development, on the corner of Watery Lane and West Strand Road, secured planning permission in January this year.

The 43,000 sq ft development features a 35-car showroom and a 13 bay workshop, as well as two customer handover bays and electric vehicle charging points.

Preston-based contractor Warden has now started main works on the build and is set to complete in spring 2019; the centre will be the 40th Porsche Centre in the UK and is expected to create 30 jobs.

It will also be Bowker Motor Group’s eleventh site once it opens, alongside other dealerships in Blackburn and Preston.

The professional team on the project also features consultant Ball & Berry and civil and structural engineer Booth King Partnership.
