The Frank Whittle Partnership and IBI Group have been appointed by Preston City Council to restore the historic market complex in the city centre.

FWP will provide surveying and cost management services and IBI is the architect.

The project will involve the demolition of the city's indoor market and multi-storey car park. A new market and event space is proposed to go under the existing historic Victorian market canopy along Earl Street.

No detailed plans have been submitted to the council yet and no date has been given for work to start.

FWP is also working on the revival of the nearby Guild Hall in Preston.
