Pozzoni school design approved

Planning permission has been granted for the new St Peter's Church of England Primary School in Leigh designed by Pozzoni Architects.

St Peters CEThe planned scheme involves moving the existing infant school onto the junior school site in a new building. The main entrance will be repositioned to provide separate pedestrian and vehicle entrances. The building creates a U shape around a shared playground.

Pat Jolley, headteacher, said: "We love this concept, it's like a little village and very pupil friendly. Not only does it mean the whole school will be on one site, easing administrative and time constraints but it creates a stable and familiar environment for the children throughout their early learning years."

The school and governors are currently waiting for funding to be approved.
