Powell Williams recruits graduate

Building consultancy Powell Williams has appointed trainee surveyor Robert Carrotte to its North West surveying team based at its Chester office.

Carrotte will support the team on retail, commercial office and industrial projects, while also studying for his Assessment of Professional Competence status.

A building surveying graduate from Nottingham Trent University, Carrotte was one of 150 applicants for the role.

Andy Williams, head of the Chester office, said: "There are notably less employment opportunities in the market due to the current economic climate and there is a growing a concern that quality candidates will eventually have no other alternative than to look for work outside the sector. We are therefore extremely pleased to be in a position to support the very trainees who are the future of our industry, in a role which provides hands on, practical experience under the guidance of an expert team.

"Robert is being brought in to support a team that is servicing clients across a wide portfolio, from owners and funders, to tenant occupiers across the commercial property arena. We are delighted to welcome Robert to the team and believe his assertive and confident manner as well as articulate and concise communication will serve our clients well."

Powell Williams provides advice to both occupiers and investors on all aspects of real estate.

Core services include acquisition and vendor's surveys, dilapidation strategies, refurbishment, maintenance, expert witness advice, project management and development monitoring.

Clients include Aviva, Standard Life, BP Investment Management, ITV, Boots and F&C Reit.

The firm also operates from offices in Birmingham and London.
