Portal starts on £25m Wrexham warehouse

Online retailer Net World Sports’ building will span 410,200 sq ft and include space for offices when complete in 2022.

C4 Projects designed the scheme for the nearly 49-acre site. CBRE acted as planning consultant and Barry Chinn Associates was the landscape architect.

Portal Construction NW has been on site since August, conducting initial groundworks.

The project breaks down into 381,880 sq ft of warehouse space, followed by 28,000 sq ft of offices split between the ground and first floor. There will also be 373 spaces in the car park, split between 366 standard bays and seven that are accessible. The scheme includes space for cycle storage.

Soft landscaping surrounds the warehouse and car park, with the project trying to both incorporate and promote green corridors. To the south of the site is a tree belt, while its eastern boundary will retain its hedgerows and trees.

The project is located just a mile away from Net World Sports’ current building in the Wrexham Industrial Estate.
