Pochin sells land to council for mixed-use scheme

Pochin Developments has sold 1.1 acres of land at its Ellesmere Wharf re-development to North Shropshire District Council.

The land forms part of the 31-acre former Creamery site and has been earmarked to house a medical centre to service the local community.

The mixed-use development will also include work units, a care home, retirement apartments and extra care sheltered housing.

Residential property, a food store, public house, café, restaurant, pharmacy, crèche and car parking are also planned.

In addition to the new public square already built, the development will also provide nature areas and comprehensive landscaping throughout the site.

Bob Nicholson, senior project manager at Pochin Developments, said: "The first phase of new infrastructure has already been delivered, alongside the new public square, which was handed over in December last year.

In addition, the contractors for Tesco are already on site, with the store scheduled for completion later this year."
