Pochin sells Crewe site

Pochin Developments has sold its completed development on the former George Hotel site on West Street in Crewe.

Pochin acquired the site in July last year and, having secured planning consent, subsequently developed 5,000 sq ft of retail accommodation on the site, of which 4,000 sq ft was let to The Co-operative, which opened earlier this year.

Pochin Developments then sold 0.6 acres to Thomas Jones Homes of Chelford for an undisclosed sum and, following planning approval, house building is now well underway.

Jim Nicholson, Pochin's property director, said: "By creating this retail scheme, we have improved the local facilities in a short period of time. This is testament to our in-house development team and partnership with Malahat Properties Limited."

"The project itself has provided much needed facilities for the local residents with a high quality retail offer. We are continuing to provide similar projects across the North West to create schemes which, like West Street can bring derelict or underused sites back into economic use."

Lamont Commercial Limited advised Pochin on the sale.
