Platt to head new LSH Cumbria office

Lambert Smith Hampton’s new Kendal office is to be led by director Richard Platt, head of LSH North’s public sector real estate advisory service.

It was announced earlier this month that LSH is to run South Lakeland District Council’s property services for five years in a £2.6m contract.

Platt said: “LSH prides itself on having the best footprint and local knowledge of any commercial consultancy in the UK. Cumbria is increasingly attracting inward investment in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, nuclear and biopharmaceuticals so it makes great business sense for us to have a presence here.”

The office, located at the Cumbria Tourism Building in Staveley, will open with eight staff initially, although LSH said that it intends to add to headcount once the new operation is up and running. The business currently has 35 UK offices.

Platt continued: “We will obviously be working with South Lakeland District Council and advising its estates team on estates management but as more businesses choose to relocate here it makes sense that we are on hand to advise them on issues like business rates, lease renewals and property investment.”
