Plans in for Liverpool aparthotel and student flats

A London-based investor has submitted a planning application for a 290-bedroom student accommodation complex and aparthotel on Benson Street in Liverpool, designed by Falconer Chester Hall.

The 0.8-acre site is occupied by Renshaw Hall, a warehouse used for a skating rink in the early 1900s but now used as an indoor car park. The hall would be demolished to make way for the development.

The plot near to Oldham Park and Liverpool Lime Street station has been earmarked for 34 cluster apartments and 28 studios, totaling 292 bedrooms for students, alongside 52 aparthotel rooms.

The flats will be split across three buildings of up to eight storeys, connected by public and private realm.

There will also be two ground floor commercial units.

The application has been put forward by NR Capricornus, a subsidiary of Niveda Realty.

Niveda is a real estate investor headquartered in Mayfair, controlled by two East African and South Asian families.

Zerum is the planning consultant.
