Plans in for 92 homes on Siemens’ Didsbury site

A planning application has been submitted for the residential phase of development at the 20-acre Siemens site in Didsbury, being delivered by PJ Livesey Group.

Designed by Calderpeel Architects, the proposals are for a five-storey block containing 44 apartments and 23 townhouses, alongside an outline application for a further 25 townhouses.

All apartments will have large balconies, and residents will also have access to a roof terrace. There is provision for two car parking spaces for each home.

In 2014, engineering company Siemens dusted off plans for a mixed-use scheme at its site in South Manchester. The masterplan included a 90-room Spire hospital, which is nearing completion and is due to open next year, and 140,000 sq ft of offices.

Last year, Bruntwood and PJ Livesey Group were named the development partners to bring forward the commercial element and the homes respectively.

PJ Livesey is advised by Planit-IE and Deloitte.
