The developer behind student accommodation proposals at Bevington Bush has submitted an overhaul of the plans to Liverpool City Council, seeking approval for three blocks of flats no longer aimed at the student market.
Bevington Developments gained planning consent in April 2016 for a 350,000 sq ft scheme of 1,019 student flats, in 169 studios and 123 cluster apartments. The site is opposite John Moores University’s Byrom Street campus.
However, a revised application has now been put in, swapping the proposed four blocks of between eight and 16 storeys for three buildings of between nine and 17 storeys.
The development would total 614 apartments.
The design team has been retained from the previous version of the project; the architect is Falconer Chester Hall, the planner is Zerum, and the public realm is designed by Planit-IE.
According to planning documents, the architect’s brief was to create a residential development “similar in size and scale” to the previously approved project.
The project includes communal space, a gym, a commercial unit, and 171 parking spaces.
