Planning in place for Prince’s Gate

Planning permission has been granted by Oldham Council for the £60m Prince’s Gate retail development anchored by a 51,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer store at Oldham Mumps.

Work has already started in antipication of the consent. The first stage is a new park-and-ride facility.

The overall development will contain 150,000 sq ft of new retail space in a glazed building, including the M&S food and clothing store, with underground parking. Other phases include up to 800 homes and 700 car parking spaces.

The retail element is due to open in 2018. The main contractor is Westshield.
