Planning granted for Manchester College campus

Planning has been granted for a new 85,000 sq ft campus at The Manchester College.

Phase one of the Wythenshawe campus will start in January next year, which is due to be completed in September 2009, and includes a new visitor centre.

Work on phase two is expected to start in May next year and due to finish by September 2010. This will incorporate a drama and performance suite, four-storey sixth-form learning and resource block, plus a radio station for local service and training opportunities.

Both phases will also include construction facilities, as the campus is situated on the site of the Brownley Green Construction Training Centre, as well as Willow Park Housing Trust's head office.
