Places on £8bn HCA framework up for grabs
The Homes & Communities Agency is currently re-tendering the panel for housebuilding and contracting partners, with the deadline for bids due to pass at noon on Wednesday 25 January.
A spokesman for the HCA said: “The panel is open to regional and national builders in five different lots and a firm can be a member of as many as are relevant to their operations. The regional lots will encourage more smaller builders to access the panel.”
The HCA’s current £6bn nationwide panel, which closes on 31 March, was used by 160 organisations including registered social housing providers, local authorities and government bodies such as the NHS to let contracts to build 26,000 homes.
The budget for the next framework is £8bn and is expected to run for four years. There are expected to be 35 suppliers in each region. There are currently four regions. These will become five as the North is separated out into North West, with a budget of £1.1bn and North East, Yorkshire and Humber, £1.6bn. The four-year framework is expected to be used for projects of between 50 and 500 homes.
