PlaceFirst adds to architecture studio

Manchester-based developer PlaceFirst has appointed Stephen Clewes from Broadway Malyan as architect in its in-house studio, PlaceFirst Architects.

Clewes will play a key role in the design development of PlaceFirst projects, including the £3m transformation of Ashton Old Baths, a grade two-listed building recently acquired by PlaceFirst due to be transformed into a digital business hub.

Neil Brown, director at PlaceFirst Architects, said: "Stephen joins us at a very exciting time and will be working on a diverse range of projects that are breathing new life into empty buildings through innovative, considered design. He is a recently qualified architect with considerable commercial experience and will be a valuable addition to the team."
