More than 1,400 visitors from across the industry attended the PlaceEXPO pavilion at the International Festival for Business in Liverpool this summer, in a seven-week programme of 22 events.

PlaceEXPO was the official regional property and construction base for the UK's IFB, and consisted of a variety of property and regeneration events to coincide with each thematic week of the IFB in June and July, plus 15 fringe events.

Conferences within the PlaceEXPO programme included Best Practice for Private Rented Sector, Place Tech UK, Low Carbon UK Summit, City Region Investment Strategies, Building for Education, Future Cities, Logistics 2020 and Ellesmere Port Development Update. These were alongside launch and closing networking events, drinks receptions with Property Week and Mix Magazine, and a world cup-themed table football competition hosted by Hill Dickinson.

The exhibition space occupied half of the ground floor of No 4 St Paul's Square in Liverpool throughout the seven weeks of the IFB. As well as stands and events there was a coffee shop run by local catering company Bean Coffee, and a stylish networking area and pop-up office created by furniture supplier Form.

The exhibition hall at PlaceEXPO featured stands from Kier Construction, Cheshire West & Chester and Cheshire East Councils, Form, Marketing Cheshire, Sigma Capital, Burnley.co.uk, Hill Dickinson, Claremont Group Interiors, Liverpool Vision, Mitsubishi Electric Europe, Sutcliffe and Warrinton & Co.

In total, 1,475 visitors came to the space. Attendance was dominated by senior delegates, with 92% in a manager or director role, spread across a mix of architects, contractors, housing associations, local government, developers and consultants.

Richard Buck, business development manager at sponsor Kier Construction, said: "PlaceEXPO has been a showcase for us, not just in the UK but a worldwide showcase, of what we can do as part of the property and construction community."

The PlaceEXPO at IFB section of Place North West.co.uk attracted more than 12,000 visits during the festival and #PlaceEXPO was mentioned more than 750 times on Twitter. PlaceEXPO was a joint venture between Active Profile and Place North West.
