Place North West – H1 2016 results

Place North West’s circulation saw a sharp increase in the first half of 2016. The number of unique users rose by 17% to 237,000 readers.

Among the best read stories of the first six months were reports of new skyscraper proposals coming forward in Liverpool, Salford and Manchester by developers Renaker, Select, Bruntwood and Elliot Group among others.

There were 1.2m page views at an average of two pages per session. Average session duration also increased to more than two minutes reflecting the actively engaged community of readers on the website, many of them enjoying the colourful Reader’s Comments section.

The Place Daily Briefing email sent to 9,000 individuals each weekday continued to attract above publishing industry average open rates and click rates. Place North West invested in a new more responsive website design in the middle of 2015, helping lift mobile usage by 50% in H1 2016 compared to H1 2015.

As well as daily rolling news coverage, Place North West publishes regular advice and analysis in the Resources section, property Jobs vacancies, a unique industry Events calendar and in-depth Special Reports.

Circulation gains were underpinned by strong advertising performance, with long-term campaigns delivered for auctioneer Pugh & Co and office launches for New Bailey and Citygate in Manchester.

Place North West delivered a dozen events during the first half of 2016 working with industry experts on topics that included logistics, residential and healthcare markets, M60 towns, universities, science parks, PRS, the Northern Powerhouse and urban demographics.

March saw the first Place Cannes Do lunch attract more than 350 people. Place Cannes Do will be repeated in March 2017.

The second half of this year will feature the Place Party dinner and market briefings on retail and office sectors, and development updates in Cheshire and Liverpool.

Place North West provides a setting for the community of property professionals working in the region to share information and meet to discuss opportunities and hear market insight.
