Place event: Student Accommodation Forum

Student AccomodationPlace is hosting a free half-day afternoon conference in March examining the prospects for the student accommodation market in the North West.

The outlook for universities and students alike is extremely uncertain with cuts to university funding and the rise in tuition fees potentially putting the brakes on development.

The event, sponsored by Sheppard Robson, Rider Levett Bucknall, Hill Dickinson and CB Richard Ellis, will begin with presentations from:

  • Gavin Duncan, director and national operations manager, Opal Property Group
  • Paul Morris, director of facilities management, University of Central Lancashire
  • Joanne Winchester, head of student housing, CB Richard Ellis

The three keynote speakers will then take part in a question and answer panel discussion. This will be followed by breakout roundtable discussions around particular topics such as funding, asset management, planning, refurbishment and design.

The event will be held on Thursday 17 March at the Friends Meeting House on Mount Street in Manchester and begins with registration at 1:30pm for the first speaker at 2pm and is scheduled to finish by 5:00pm.
