Paul Beardmore, director of housing at Manchester City Council, will deliver a keynote speech about the role of the local authority in the residential market at Place's Social Housing Forum in October.
Beardmore started in his post at Manchester in April 2009 after joining from Rochdale Council, where he was head of strategic housing services.
Delegates attending the event on 19 October at Lancashire County Cricket Club will also hear from Maggie Shannon, director of performance and innovation at Great Places Housing Group.
The free-to-attend Place North West Social Housing Forum, sponsored by financial advisors KPMG and law firm Hill Dickinson, will include roundtable breakout sessions on funding, policy, build, community liaison and maintenance.
The forum will conclude with a panel debate featuring Bill Enevoldson, partner and head of public sector at KPMG, John Holmes, partner and head of planning at Hill Dickinson and Mark Seaborn, managing director of social housing management specialist Pennington Choices.
The event will begin at 8:30am and conclude with lunch at 1pm.
