Pizza Express adds flavour to Liverpool arena offer

The new public square at the Arena and Convention Centre at Liverpool's Kings Waterfront is to serve up the city centre's second Pizza Express restaurant.

The pizza chain will occupy a 5,000 sq ft pavilion in the square, being developed by Halo Seddon and designed by arena architect Wilkinson Eyre. The outlet is due to open in spring 2008.

Liverpool Vision chief executive, Jim Gill, said: "Having high quality restaurants, bars and hotels will attract visitors to Kings Waterfront and help our ambitions to create a visitor destination of international quality."

Kings Waterfront is the single largest development site in Liverpool city centre. It is supported by a partnership of Liverpool Vision, English Partnerships, the North West Development Agency, the European Objective One Programme and Liverpool City Council.

Once complete in January, ACC Liverpool will provide a 10,600-seat arena, a 1,350-seat convention centre and total exhibition space in excess of 70,000 sq ft.
