Pinsent Masons appoints Manchester head of property

Jonathan Brocklehurst has replaced Mike Edge as head of property for Pinsent Masons in Manchester, joining the Spinningfields-based team from the firm’s Leeds office.

Brocklehurst, who took up his role in January, has been with the firm since 1991 and has headed up the property team in its Leeds office for the last five years.

He replaces Mike Edge, who left the company in October last year to join Mills & Reeve. Fellow partner Rachel Pitman also left along with Edge, both of whom had worked at Pinsent Masons for seven years.

He will head up a team of 40 in the Manchester office in Spinningfields, which has worked with Manchester City Council on the appointment of Far East Consortium to the £1bn Northern Gateway in the last 12 months.

The law firm also advised AM Alpha on its purchase of the 470,000 sq ft Rylands Building on Market Street for £87m in December last year.

Brocklehurst said: “Pinsent Masons is committed to and focussed on the North West region and we are excited about the prospect of supporting the continued growth of the region through our regional, national and international clients and contacts.”
